Ever since the new patch came out which allow the relatively easy effort to get good gears , HWL, there has been minimal or no need to go instances or raids to farm for our gears. This is a double edge sword as new 60s wouldn’t have the need to tone up their skills by going low level instance first to gather reasonable gear but only to PVP to get uber HWL gears. Thus our main roles in WOW are only left with PVP or GOLD farming. As I am not really a PVP type of mage (do not have completed my HWL set yet), I shall not touch on that topic.
Gold farming on the other hand is one of my most prized talents. LoL. Be WARNED that my tactics may only be applicable to mage or caster class. If you belongs to other class and get killed using my tactics, I offer no apology to you!
Places of Farming.
These are the places I used to farm and are subjected to my rep farming too.
Silitius Twilight Camp
I used to farm there as the twilight mobs drop reasonable silver 1-10S per kill and provides rep for cenariun hold ( forgive my lousy spelling). They drop green items for u to sell, DE or summon templars for further rep. More importantly is they drop twilight text which can be sold at Auction for 80S per piece or exchange for rep.
The mobs there are easy; about lvl 55-57 normal mobs which are easy to kill and they spawn fast too. Do take note of the riders thou.. they pawned my ass everytime I ran into them.
I was farming in this area til my rep with cenariun hold reach honor and thus do not give me my 1 rep per twilight mob kills.
Aszhara
Farm the demons there for the felcloth for a while before I give up. The heavy traffic, slow pawning speed of the demons and the minimal amount of demons really discourage me to farm fel cloth over there.
Tyrs HAND (EPL)
Currently, I am farming at this area. This is the best place to farm for gold if you don’t care about reps farming. The mobs are 55-57 ELITE humans but are quite easy to kill. ( 3-5 coldbolt and they are dead). The mobs don’t cluster fuck together (at most 2 at one group) thus allowing me to sheep one then kill the other with ease. Normally I summon my pet to aggro the mob, then nova it with my Water E, then I cold bolt it, then nova it again with my spell… then kill it leisurely with no damage on me. Easy….
They give good loots compared to the rest farming area I proposed. They give 1-30s per kill , drop lotsa green item and black item which can be sold at least 1G to NPC. I can farm roughly 20G for about 30-45min per run sometimes even more.
However one thing to take note over there is there are quite a lot of allies in that area too. They never bother me before. Normally if I see one, I help them dps down their mobs for them for a while (show that I am friendly horde). LoL, Yeah. Scold me for being a betrayer to the horde but I go to Tyrs HAND to farm gold, NOT to PVP. I give priority to farm gold rather than killing allies or them killing me.
INSTANCE – Strat, Scholo, BRD, DM
Sometimes I go instance to farm gold also. It was fun and you will not be bored at all times. Instance farming can only be done with an experienced group. If you die, you might spend more on repairing instead. However with the new patch, not much pple wants to go instance anymore.

WTS: Arcane Intelligence

Some people are just naive. Or plain dumb. Either ways, I need to try this on someone one day. If only to relieve my boredom.
WATER ELEMENTAL & YOU!
For the folks out there who have problems controlling their water elemental or just hate to click on the pet bar (Like me), theres a way to bind keys to control the water elemental instead. Just follow these quick steps:
1) Press ESC
2) Click Keybindings
3) Scroll down to secondary action buttons
4) For pet attack, bind a key to Secondary Action Button 1
5) For pet stay (Works to stop pet from attacking too), bind a key to Secondary Action Button 3
6) For Freeze, bind a key to Secondary Action Button 5
And viola, no more worries about disappearing pet bars! Anyways, just something that should be working a long time ago, the water elemental is now able to cast freeze while you are casting a spell (Just enabled last patch).

Maicha First LohSoh Post
Hi all readers,
First I would like to introduce myself. I am the tanker mage, MAICHA in Dragonmaw server based in MAKAN guild which is famous for our LLL tactics. Well, I shall put some pointers first for all mages whom are as noob as me.
For new 60s mage with normal or below average gear:
1) When in instance or raid, if you don’t have an on-the-ball healer or tanker, try not to aoe in close range. Maybe you can Blizz or watever aoe spell at a damn safe distance so to prevent you from dying. Better to kill slow than die early which makes one lesser useful class during the fight.
2) Always blink out of danger. Remember if you die, the party will suffer as lesser dps will be meted out on mobs.
3) Always ICEBLOCK and wait for heals.
4) Don’t over aggro and watch the threat meter as we only wear branded designer cloth which is nice to see but not nice to take hits.
5) Drink whenever got chance as water is free
6) Calculate you Cooldown so that you always have your life saving spells when encounter risk.
For mages with power gear but lesser control (Due to powerlvl or watever):
1) Watch the threatmeter, wand even if u still got mana if you are near the top of the list.
Most imptly, LISTEN to instruction from the experience player in the instance.
For me, I like to summon water elemental to fight with me so that in terms of over aggro, I can get gd dps with wanding also. Water elemental dps dun count in my aggro meter. ICE BLOCK whenever I kana jialat jialat and snap later for backup. Spells are free so dun be a cheapo. Of course, these are subjected to the environment and whether is there any other bosses encounter in the near future. SNAP got 8-10 min cooldown so calculate properly.
Finally I would like to state that the above advice is only applicable to me. If you agree otherwise, feel free to add in anymore comments or opinion.

Ivus PWNED!
Call me a noob, but this is the first time I have seen Ivus fallen. Apparantly, someone kited him back so that we can lay waste to this pile of wood. At this point though, we had already lost the AV (Whats new?) anyways, so most of us were just chilling in the cave.NEW AUTHORS!
In addition, the blog welcomes 2 new authors namely our fellow mage Maicha and the 0.5 mage, Cheng Teng (His alt, demonplus is a destructo lock). So we'll be seeing more stuff soon.
PATCH 2.0.3
The new patch has introduced quite a few changes and free respecs even though it was a minor patch, surprisingly really. I haven't read through the list of changes through yet, so I'll prolly post some comments tonight or tomorrow about my thoughts. The thing that caught my eye though was giving rogues CoS as a trainable talent on a 1 min cooldown. From a mage point of view, an ice mage and a rogue going 1v1 with all cooldowns available is already quite close to a fair fight (Our fire/arcane breathen gets owned by rogues). With the addition of CoS being trainable, it might skew the balance to the rogue. Of course, this is theorycraft, I'll post more when I fight more rogues (Abeit good ones).
